Issue 1204 – Eveywhere – July 26, 2023

There is an old but catchy country tune called “I’ve been everywhere.” Originally written by Geoff Mack in 1959 and listing places in Australia, the song was popularized by Hank Snow in the early 1960s with communities and locations in the U.S. and Canada. It has been redone many times, often with different communities listed.
I have travelled some. I have been to many places in North America and visited Mexico. I have seen a lot of Western Europe and parts of Asia and Africa. I certainly haven’t been everywhere.
When it comes to the Bible, Jesus is everywhere. There are direct references, prophecies or types of Jesus in each of the 66 books. Many people have compiled a list. I won’t show them all, but if you are interested, here is a link to one of them. Even the book of Esther, which does not directly mention God, shows Him to be the protector of His people.
Jesus was there at creation, incarnated, crucified, died, resurrected, ascended in the gospels, and returned in Revelation. There is nowhere He cannot see, and transcending time and matter, there is no time He is not present. The LORD sees everything, knows all and is sovereign over all He sees and knows.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made John 1:1-3
The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Revelation 1:1-2
It is both comforting and terrifying to know that everything is visible to Him. For the believer, we know that the good things that go unseen by others and the times we are faithful are noted. For the unbeliever, the knowledge that God sees all is terrifying because in the core of their beings, despite their protestations to the contrary, they know their denials of God are in vain.
The Lord is also revealed in the lives of His followers. We carry an internal light that magnifies the Lord.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35
Jesus is made known in the created order; the simple fact that something exists rather than nothing speaks of a creator. All creation praises Him and awaits His return.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. Psalm 19:1-2
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:18-20
As believers, we can be anywhere and know that our God accompanies us. That should give us both a reason to rejoice and to face whatever comes in life.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Be Blessed
Hallelu Yah / Praise God
Kevin
