Issue 1485 – On Time – June 28, 2024

There must be twenty or more clocks in our home, including various wall clocks. There also used to be alarm clocks, but our phones made them obsolete.
The omputers and other devices have clocks. The television and DVD player have clocks. Even the VCR has a clock – yes, we still use it on rare occasions.
Most of the kitchen appliances have a clock of some kind. In addition, there is a clock in the car, and everyone has a watch. I think you would be hard pressed to find two that agreed on the time. There’s always someone trying to figure out what time it really is.
There are several calendars scattered throughout the house. I checked, and all of them are in the correct month, but when the new month hits, at least one will be forgotten for a few days and will still show June instead of July.
We can generally figure out the day of the week, the date, and the time pretty closely among the family members.
Fortunately, God is a much better timekeeper than I am. Since He was there before time started and will still be there after time finishes, He is its master.
As the master of time, He knows when it will end for every one of us. He knows the appointed hour of our birth and our death.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:15-16
We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds. “At the set time that I appoint, I will judge with equity. Psalm 75:1-2
O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am!Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Psalm 39:4-5
We don’t know the time of our departure from this world. It might be before I finish writing this or before you read this whole mailing. You do read the entire thing, don’t you? Parts of it change periodically, and there is some important stuff below the line where I sign off.
Our departure might be many years from now.
I know that whatever time I have here is limited and precious. God has set out tasks for each of us to accomplish in this life.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
How much of that precious time have we wasted instead of investing it in what God planned for us? We can’t take back the time we’ve misspent, but we can take control of the time we have left.
Will you invest the time you have left in the service of the King who loves you enough to have died in your place? Or will you stand before him, saved by His grace but empty handed in terms of your work and service?
Until next time, may every God given moment be invested in Him.
Hallelu Yah / Praise God

Gleanings From The Word
Experience an extraordinary God in ordinary life.
Soli Deo Gloria (For the glory of God alone)
Never let the enemy tell you that you are worthless or insignificant. Your value in God’s eyes is so great that it was worth dying for. You are a blessing to the world. You are so precious to God that his plan for heaven will not be complete without you.
