Issue 1445 – Night Lights – May 11, 2024

Many people stayed up late (or got up early) for a spectacular show of the light show. Due to the effects of a massive solar storm, the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) were visible far brighter and over a much larger area than usual.
This storm is enormous; a G4 was recorded. Solar storms are classified on a āGā scale of 1 to 5, with G1 being minor and G5 being extreme. The most extreme storms can cause widespread blackouts and damage to infrastructure on Earth. Satellites may also have trouble orienting themselves or sending or receiving information during these events.
The auroras weren’t visible yet when I called it a night at 10 PM and mainly had finished when I went outside at 3 AM, but they were still outstanding. My Facebook page has been filled with posts from people showing the sky near their homes. There are many breathtaking shots of the brilliant colours.
I spent enough years up north to experience the Northern Lights every day (in season), but from what I have seen online, they were spectacular last night. The power of the sun and its impact on us is almost impossible to overstate.
When I try to imagine that much power, my mind cannot comprehend it; when I try to imagine the power of the God who created it, my mind doesn’t stretch far enough.
This God of unimaginable energy and power is a relational God who created us and wants us to fellowship with Him. When I try to imagine a love that deep, I cannot grasp it, although I know it is true.
It is no wonder that the Psalmist declared His praises.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beingsand crowned him with glory and honour. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalm 8
Praise His name when you consider the work of His hands and the depth of His love.
Be blessed
Hallelu Yah / Praise God

Gleanings From The Word
Experience an extraordinary God in ordinary life.
Soli Deo Gloria (For the glory of God alone)
Never let the enemy tell you that you are worthless or insignificant. Your value in God’s eyes is so great that it was worth dying for. You are a blessing to the world. You are so precious to God that his plan for heaven will not be complete without you.
