Issue 1452 – Road Trip – May 20, 2024

I am still fighting this bronchitis/pneumonia thing, but I am making progress towards wellness. On Saturday, I got out of the house for a county drive (Abbotsford—Chilliwack via Yarrow – return on the back roads). Kathy drove, and I enjoyed her company while taking in the sights.
There were rainstorms to the north, south and east of us, but the skies did produce a beautiful rainbow. At times the entire bow could be seen stretching from horizon to horizon. I managed to snap this quick shot of a farm scene with a partial rainbow through the windshield.
I find that pastoral scene relaxing. As we drove, I thought about part of Psalm 23.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:1-3
Our true, rest, peace and hope lie in the hands of the Lord. He redeems us, forgives us, strengthens us and sets us on a journey of being conformed in the image of His Son.
Too often, we tend to think about Jesus being our ticket out of hell and being able to go to heaven. We forget that our faith walk is a daily event. While we are travelling towards glory, the love of God impacts every area of our daily lives.
Yes, Jesus is for the future, but He is also our daily companion.
We are meant to be followers of Jesus daily, not just on Sunday mornings or when we get to glory. He is God for the journey, not merely the destination
God wants to bless us and transform us and provides opportunities to serve daily. We neglect those opportunities to our own detriment.
May you know Him and be aware of Him every day. May you come to understand that He is the God of your present reality, not just a future hope.
Be blessed
Hallelu Yah / Praise God

Gleanings From The Word
Experience an extraordinary God in ordinary life.
Soli Deo Gloria (For the glory of God alone)
Never let the enemy tell you that you are worthless or insignificant. Your value in God’s eyes is so great that it was worth dying for. You are a blessing to the world. You are so precious to God that his plan for heaven will not be complete without you.
