Issue 836 – Wildflower – August 27, 202

Recently while hiking one of the trails in Abbotsford (Stony Creek?), we came across a significant number of these beautiful purple wildflowers. The bloom looks almost orchid-like to me. I tried to identify them but couldn’t find a photo online that matches. If you know what they are, please let me know.
Flowers are amazing, particularly wildflowers (actually, all flowers were originally wild or created from wild stock). They come in a seemingly endless variety of colours, shapes and sizes. Each has its own particular habitat preferences. Some are very hardy, and others very fragile.
Yet, God has created them and uses each for His glory. He cares for them, and they live carefree lives.
We could learn from them.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:25-34
None of us chose our place or time of birth. None of us has perfectly arranged the sequence of our lives to end up where we are. Yet, we are exactly where God planned for us to be at this moment and time.
That is an incredible thought.
We might not understand the plan, but we can rest assured that our sovereign Lord has everything under control. When we truly grasp that truth, we can understand Paul’s admonition to the church in Philippi.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
And his words to the church in Thessalonica.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Thessalonians 4:16-18
We have a God who cares for each of us more than we can ever comprehend. That is reason to rejoice, indeed.
Hallelu Yah (Praise God)
Be blessed.
