Issue 693 – Prehistoric – March 24, 2022
decidedly prehistoric feel to it all. You almost expect to see dinosaurs walk onto the scene.
Daily devotionals from Scripture to nourish your faith, deepen your prayer life, and grow in God's grace.

Daily devotionals, short stories and Bible studies are designed to encourage you and strengthen you in your walk with Jesus. Come on in, sit a spell and be encouraged.
To learn more about us and what we believe, check out the “About”page. We believe that the Bible is not simply some dusty, old, irrelevant book. It is the living, active, wholly inspired Word of God.
I write devotionals on a daily basis. Most of us are ordinary people, living ordinary lives.
That is an excellent place to meet God. The Lord loves ordinary people … He must because He made so many of us. My devotionals are drawn from ordinary life and I hope illustrate the truths of Scripture. Scripture trumps my writing in every way, yet many people find it helpful in their faith walk.

In his pockets were a couple of bandannas, numerous boxes of waterproof matches, a small candle and a compass. He kept some fishing line, flies, and simple hooks in an old breath mint can.

For many years my father was an apiarist; he kept bees and harvested the honey. He quit when he and my mom sold the farm, and they moved to the city.

People have a lot in common with birds, including the need for some sort of home. The nature of that home can vary greatly. The choice of where and how we live are important decisions.

Kathy and I visited one of those historical/cultural villages. You know, with costumed actors playing out everyday life in a historical setting. This one was the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village (near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and well worth a day if you are ever up that way during June-September).

I stood, shivering outside by the gravesite. While we waited for the pastor, my thoughts drifted back to the last time I had seen my friend alive … I was sitting in my shop enjoying a cup of coffee between customers. I own a used book store in Pine Brook, one of the finest in these parts, Buckman’s Books.
