Later this morning, I am meeting a friend at a coffee shop. It will be a treat as it has been more than a month since I could do that. Of late, my morning coffee time has tended to look more like the photo than a coffee shop.

Snowshoes are masters of camouflage, with brown/grey colouring most of the year and white in the winter. When they sit still, they can be challenging to spot. This one wanted to up its game and hide in the feeder/fountain.

As I recalled that flower this morning, my mind drifted back to when I was a child. When the dandelions went to seed, we called them puffballs and delighted to blow the seeds into the wind and watch them dance along in the air. I still like dandelions and puffballs, but I live in a culture that prides itself on its well-manicured lawns.
